What is Astral Projection?
I found this information on a site called astralexperience.com - I know this isn’t exactly what’s going on with that guy Jack over on Youtube, but it is all “projection”. And, by the by, as of today, Jack is thinking he suffered a black out or something. That was my spec!!! I know the idea of “projecting” is very weird and sounds impossible for most people. To me it doesn’t seem impossible…and I like that it’s weird!
Of course.
Astral projection (or etheric projection) is the ability to separate one’s consciousness from the confines of the physical body, enabling one to travel vast distances through time and space and then return safely.
Once separated, the possibilities in this spirit-like form are endless, as there are no restrictions in the means of locomotion as are present in the physical body. You may choose to walk, glide, fly or even think yourself to a location simply by imagining the place you want to be.
Perhaps you wish to visit someone on the other side of the planet – you only have to think of that person and you’ll be there, in an instant. Being a non-solid form, the astral body (body of consciousness) is able to pass through walls and other solid matter with ease and could even make physical contact with another projector.
Although there are some people out there practising astral projection, it is not commonly known in the western world and most people in the street would scoff at the idea.

I used to read a lot about astral projection. I’ve read about “living ghosts” where a person will astral project to a home for instance and then visit it in person and the owner of the home will relay a story of seeing a ghost that looks like the person who astral projected. (I didn’t explain that too well, did I? ) Anyway, I’m wondering if that is what your gran did, Suzie. If that is why you see photos of places that look like the U.S. Maybe she and the Duncans figured out a way to visit and were able to document it through photos…
A bit far fetched?

I wonder about this, Artcgrrl. This is an interesting thought. Since some of these photos look like they’re from another time, I wonder if it could be possible to project in time as well as place…hmmm?

so this is my first time actually visiting this site.
and all this talk about projection and stuff is really starting to convince me that it’s real.
there are times when i just concentrate so hard on being somewhere else that i can feel it.
and kind of see it.
it’s just really faint.
at first i would just think nothing of it.
and at times i feel like i could actually be there..but there was just something in the way.
so maybe if i actually go through these projection steps or whatever…it would actually happen?
hm…..i’m intrigued.

I’m intrigued too! I would love to project or jump to anywhere! Can I ask you, Arceli..
Are you standing or sitting or lying down when you do this concentrating? You may be very close to being able to do this. That’s amazing!

I’m so jealous I would love to be able to astral project…um you knwo if its even possible.

well…mainly while i’m sitting or laying down.
like i said…i’ll just sit there and think about where i want to be…
..and i get this weird feeling.
kind of … i don’t know.
but i can feel being there.
but only for like a couple seconds.

Suzie, I’ve been projecting since I was 13 (I’m 22 now). My mom started without meaning to, without knowing what it was, in her early 20s. When I was around 13, she learned what it was, and when we talked about it, I decided I wanted to try it. I did go to a site to learn how… and all I remember is something about leaving your arm up, so every time it starts to fall, your body’ll wake itself up and won’t sleep. In any case, it worked — MY FIRST TRY.
It was really scary for me, as it’s a completely different thing, and you can hear your body breathing and it sounds like you’re underwater, and you’re floating. I wondered if there’d be other astral projectors and if they’d look scary. I then wondered if I wouldn’t be able to get back into my body. At that point, WOOSH, I was back in. I could explain the experience at length, but I don’t think I’d have enough room here.
Anyway, since then, I can’t stop. Since that very first time, my astral self (soul or whatever it is) will be awoken while my body still sleeps and is paralyzed, and it feels like I’m being sucked away, like something’s forcing me to leave. I hear the familiar loud sound of my self leaving my body, and I can’t move to try to wake myself to stop it. Sometimes I’ll struggle with this for hours — it’s exhausting!
It’s left me to wonder — what wants me to project so badly? What’s controlling this phenomenon? When it happens, I feel like I’m being watched. It’s really weird. I’ve never seen anything, but since it’s against my will, it actually freaks me out. Anything against your will isn’t good.
In my experience, I’m not in a different time, no one “awake” has seen me, but I have witnessed events and have been able to relay them later. My mom and I have also been able to do it together.
My mom passed away several months ago, and I’ve wondered if I could use it to visit her, but I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be able to. And since you can’t project in another time, I don’t see how useful projection could be, apart from as a spying technique, which seems immoral to me.

I’ve been looking into astral projection for a while. I remember as a child before bed I used to play the “Floating Game.” Where I would ‘float’ above my body and just kinda hover there, going closer to the ceiling then back down towards my body. This was forgotten about as I got older, and somewhere over time I had just stopped.
Few years ago though, I felt it happening again. Though my comfort with it wasn’t necessarily there, and I was terrified of it at first. I’ve come to live with it now and although I usually have problems resulting from it(Sleep paralysis… I’ll explain..) I do want to get back in control of it like from when I was younger. I guess when your little your so much more open to strange things.
Anyway, there are ways that I’ve aquired to tell if its going to happen a certain night. When I’m laying down to sleep, I become extremely sensitive to light and noise. Any bit of light could annoy me and prevent me from falling asleep, and noises that usually wouldn’t have any effect on me become amplified almost. I used to get disturbed by this and find the darkest quietest room I could find (Which oddly enough, left me sleeping in the bath tub, haha). As I lay there, I feel strong vibrations throughout my body. They don’t hurt or anything, I actually like the feeling, it feels like your whole body is humming, and you can hear it coming from your core. Its a very soothing feeling and sound once you get over the initial shock of it. I would fall asleep to it, and have no memory of my astral projections. But I feel myself re-enter. Its kinda like a thump that doesn’t hurt. You know when you’re laying there and your leg jerks? Its kinda like that for me, except its your whole body at once. I get scared though, and I panic because the majority of this time I can’t move once I’m concious, I can’t speak(I’ve tried screaming for help, and nothing comes out), and it feels like I can’t breath. It is the scariest feeling ever for me. I read up on this feeling, and found out it results from Sleep Paralysis which is when your mind is awake, but your body is still asleep.
I’ve learned that if I can get myself to stop panicing, it goes away. I repeat “Please God, Stop…” over in my mind, and usually by the third time I am free from it. I use God as a safety net for it, and I suppose you could just say “Stop.” or whatever, and it’ll go away too, but me freaking out thats just the words that come first.
From my understanding, -everyone- astral projects atleast 3 times a week, but are just not aware of it. It comes with practice.
Heres a little practice technique I’ve come to use to ensure a semi-sucessful projection(as I can’t remember what transpires while out of my body.) Maybe someone can put in some input on how to remember?
1. Find a comfortable position, usually works best when I’m laying down on my bed.
2. I guess this part is optional on personal beliefs. I ask God to surround me with the white light, protecting me from harm and ensuring a safe trip, I also ask my Spirit Guides(Guardian Angels?) to help me with a safe exiting and rentry
3. Go through every part of your body, starting with your toes and think to yourself “My toes are relaxed, the balls of my feet are relaxed, the heels of my feet are relaxed, the top of my feet are relaxed, my calves are relaxed, my shins are relaxed, ect ect” and work up to the top of your head. Yea, it takes a hot little minute to go through each body part, as I like to do inner thighs, outer thighs, top of thighs, back of thighs. the more detailed you are, the more you really will feel your body relax. it almost is like a sinking feeling as you get through the body parts.
-side note: sometimes you’ll get an itch or strange prick in parts of your body that you’ve already gone over. Try your best to ignore them, and resist itching or moving. Most of the time I feel compelled to scratch at it and start all over again with the relaxation techniques. I don’t know if its necessary to start over, maybe I’m OCD.
4. Once you’ve completed the relaxation technique, focus on your breathing. Just listen to it, you don’t have to concentrate on it too hard, just breathe and hear. Over maybe 5-10 minutes, you’ll start to feel little vibrations. Let them happen, and don’t be scared. Its really a soothing feeling. In your head you’ll feel a more amplified noise of it. You’ll feel almost like you -are- the vibrations. Let yourself drift off to sleep.
5. Pop! That usually comes on its own.
If anyone has any advice on how to remember your trips, please let me know.
Hope this helps.

It’s funny how people believe everything that is written in Internet. But it’s their own business, I don’t care about them. My opinion is that it’s such a bullshit!
