The Duncan Clan
In my efforts to learn more about who the Duncans may or may not be, I decided to check out the history of the name and found all this information below. Something to note… the clan Duncan has it’s origins in Scotland and that reminded me of my Mum’s idea that the letters HARRO might be a Scottish word. This first bit is from http://www.clan-duncan.co.uk/.
Based in the Scottish Highlands the Clan Duncan Society’s primary purpose is to bring together all those with the name Duncan and the associated names of Duncanson, Duncane, Dunkinson, Duncean, Dunken, Donkin, Dunkin and other alternate spellings to globally unite all those with an interest in their history, heritage and ancestral roots in Scotland and unite us all as one Clan.
Duncan is without doubt one of the oldest names in Scotland with a wide, varied and historic background. The formation of our own Clan Duncan Society will enable us to bring all those associated with the name together in one place as one Clan.
Now I’m off to find out more about this Duncan clan. Cheers!

How’s it going Suzie? I just have an odd question. Is your last name, by any chance, happen to be Duncan? Or could your ancestors been named Duncan?

I think it’s time to look into some geneology!

Agreed! So far I have not found any links between my family and the Duncan clan, but I will continue to search. My Mum and Dad insist we are not Scots!
