Astral Projection?

Okay, I’ve thought about this topic a lot. My Mum told me she tried to “Astral Project” herself several times during the 80’s. She read a book by an actress named Shirley MacLaine, who said she did it (Astral Projection) all the time and loved it. Seems it is harder than it looks, though, and my Mum never was able to make any leaps to other lands or cosmos or wherever. I decided to investigate Shirley MacLaine and Astral Projection.

My first stop was Wikipedia.

Astral projection (or astral travel) is a paranormal interpretation of an out-of-body experience achieved either awake or via lucid dreaming or deep meditation. The concept of astral projection assumes the existence of another body, separate from the physical body and capable of traveling to non-physical planes of existence. Commonly such planes are called astral, etheric, or spiritual. Astral projection is often experienced as the spiritastral body leaving the physical body to travel in the spirit world or astral plane.

Woowoo, right? But if I could do it, I would do it.

After coming to an understanding about Astral Projection, I wandered over to Shirley MacLaine. This woman has acted in like 50 films & a few plays, written 12 books, sister to Warren Beaty - And, it seems, she can ASTRAL PROJECT at the drop of a hat! WOOT! Shirley says she’s been all over the cosmos. She’s met spirits, encountered U.F.O.’s, and she knows people (personally) who actually lived in Atlantis (as did she) in a previous life. I’ve decided to learn even more about this trailblazer. I’m reading my Mum’s old copy of Shirley Mac’s “Out on a Limb”. The book was published back in the 1980’s and tells the tale of her journey to these many “other worlds”. I will post more about this book later next week.

My mother used to say she could astrally project when she was a child, but her psychiatrist said she was just dreaming. To her, she said, she was actually there!

I’m more interested in remote viewing: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remote_viewing Did you know the military used to research this and train people to use remote viewing as a spy technique. The movie Suspect Zero was all about remote viewing. I would love to be able to do this!

RadiantNight, You have to tell us all about your experience and help the rest of us try to “AP” as well!

My grandma said to me that astral projection occurs when one is sleeping. She says your spirit leaves your body and goes to the “Unknown”. There you meet other spirits. Thus, creating our dreams. So, I believe that astral projection happens to everyone.
